It’s Figure Skating Regionals Brag Time!
All of the U.S. Figure Skating Regionals (the first round of qualifying competitions) are finished and I believe those happening elsewhere around the world have finished, too.
If your figure skater placed well, it’s time to celebrate! If your figure skater met his goals, it’s time to celebrate that, too! If your figure skater went out on the ice, competed, and didn’t turn into a pile of mush, that’s worth a shout out!
If your figure skater didn’t compete because of illness or injury, please let us know how you consoled him and if he’s feeling better. Just skip the questions below that don’t apply to your situation.
For those of you who don’t have Regionals skaters, feel free to brag about your skater’s latest and greatest accomplishment, on the ice, off the ice, in competition, or in practice.
I know that in the U.S., dance and pairs don’t compete at Regionals; rather, they compete at Sectionals right away. If you have one of these skaters (or you are one of these skaters), please fill out the form anyway! We want to cheer you on!
Please copy and paste this form into the comments (the weird HTML stuff, too). To post a photo in your comments, make sure you have a URL (web address) that includes the html:// part. Copy and paste the whole thing into the comment. It should work.
<b>Skater’s name (optional)</b>
<b>Skater’s age</b>
<b>Skater’s figure skating level and discipline:</b>
<b>What region and country does the skater compete in?</b>
<b>What music does the figure skater have for the long and/or short programs?</b>
<b>How did the skater do at Regionals/last competition (indicate which one)</b>
<b>What was the best thing about Regionals/last competition (indicate which one)</b>
<b>What advice would you give skaters who will compete at next year’s Regionals?</b>
<b>What jump/spin/other cool stuff is your skater working on?</b>
<b>Other comments about Regionals/Sectionals/other competitions</b>
Good luck to those figure skaters who advanced to Sectionals! Good luck to those skaters who are out of the national qualifying competitions and have moved on to international competition! You should be proud of your hard work.
For more information about U.S. Figure Skating’s qualifying competitions, check out USFSA’s Bracket Banner and Regional Map. For information about who in the U.S. is moving on to qualifying competitions, check out Unseen Skaters Online and IceNetwork.com.
If you live outside the U.S., could you please post a comment about where we can find information about your country’s figure skating system and who advanced to the next level of qualifying competition? Thanks!
Do you have a question for Ice Mom or the Advisory Board? Please let me know if you have an idea for a blog post you’d like to read. I’m compiling sewing questions for tomorrow, so if you have a quick sewing question, send it to me. I’ll add it to the list. E-mail me at IceMom.Diane@gmail.com
